24 Hour Guide To Austin, TX

What was supposed to be a trip to Austin for my first time as well as seeing one of my favorite groups of 2025, Ca7riel Y Paco Amoroso suddenly had a major shift. Yes, Austin still happened but sadly, my excited for seeing Ca7riel Y Paco Amoroso sadly did not. And no, there were no cancellations on the groups end…no, no, no. For the first time since traveling, I poorly planned this trip! What was supposed to be a long weekend in Austin turned into an overnight trip. I am still beating myself up as I write this because WHY!!! But bad planning aside, I was able to enjoy Austin…the liveliness not only exuded from the weekend festivities of ACL Fest but, also the kindness from the people of Austin. I have never talked to so many strangers in a short period of time! You can definitely enjoy Austin in two bountiful days but if you only have a limited amount of time, here are some go to’s as well as some recommendations.

EAT

I arrived to Austin hungry and ready for some Texan flare! I was hesitant on booking a reservation at a restaurant since I had a 7PM reservation at The Equipment Room. I ended up at Joanne’s Fine Food, a cozy diner right on South Congress and the comfort food did not disappoint. With time still on my side, I headed to Goldie’s Sunken Bar located inside of the Austin Proper Hotel. My main objective was to lust over the interior designs as Kelly Wearstler does magic like not other! Creating a modern, vintage style that is unique to each Proper location. After, I headed to The Equipment Room, a Hi-Fi bar located in the basement of Hotel Magdalena. There, curated cocktails are to be savored while selections of music only played via vinyl records is to be enjoyed. They even offer headphones where you can really get lost and escape your surroundings! The next morning, it was off to Desnudo coffee where honoring the traditions of coffee workers is their DNA. I grabbed my coffee; which was smooth and delicious, and took a 15 minute walk to Rockman Bakery where I was overstimulated by the amount of delicious pastries they had to offer. I grabbed my goods to go and headed back to Frame Hotel, Soco. With limited time, I took a nice walk to Downtown Austin with nothing more to do but to casually walk around. After, I headed to La Barbecue and turned right back around due to the endless line. I should’ve known better but, when I went to Rockman’s early that day there was no line so, I assumed the same. Do plan on arriving before the restaurant opens, that is unless you’re okay with long waits. After, it was back to South Congress for an Iced Americano at Two Hands and to check out some of the shops that lined this infamous street. Ending my time at Austin was a delightful lunch at Este .
